CHICKEN ALFREDO
with salad and garlic bread
Ingredients:
(1) lb. boneless, skinless chicken cut into bite size pieces $1.79/lb. @ WM!
(1) Box Mueller's pasta (FREE) see HERE
(2) Jars Classico Alfredo Sauce ($1.88)
(1) 10 oz. box Birdseye frozen spinach (FREE) see HERE
SALAD:
1/3 head of lettuce chopped, $1.48/head @ WM = $.50
(1) Tomato chopped, $2.78/lb @ WM = $1.61
(1) Cucumber chopped, $.94 ea. @ WM
(4) Slices Walmart Bakery Garlic Bread ($.36)
I buy the loaf off the "Oops We've baked too much rack" for $1.80 and put in freezer until we need it. There are about 20 slices, so it comes out to$.09 ea. and you don't even have to add the butter and garlic!!
TOTAL: $7.08 OR $7.72 with tax!!
(There will be plenty of leftovers for the hubby's lunch tomorrow and probably a leftover supper night!!)
Directions:
- Heat a Large, preferably non-stick, pan to medium heat with about 1-1 1/2 tbsp. oil.
- Add chicken to pan and let cook until browned.
- Meanwhile, Cook pasta according to directions on box.
- When chicken has finished browning, drain the oil and add in the (2) jars alfredo sauce and simmer on low until pasta is finished.
- Meanwhile take out box of spinach and cook in microwave according to directions on box.
- Add the spinach to the sauce mixture. Continue to simmer.
- Cook garlic bread according to directions on package.
- Drain pasta and add to sauce mixture and let simmer until garlic bread is toasted.
- Eat Hot and Enjoy!!
