Here are the things that you need to know when shopping Publix with coupons! The information provided is according to what I have learned from shopping Publix in Alabama. Other states, such as Florida, have a slightly different policy.

Here are a few helpful links from The Bargain Buggy:
- They accept 1 store coupon (including competitor's grocery store coupons: Target, Sav-a-lot, Winn-Dixie, etc.) plus 1 Manufacturer's coupon per item. This is called "stacking". You can use store coupons out of store coupon booklets, coupons that may print out on receipts, or coupons that print off the internet!
- They will also double any manufacturer's coupon up to and including $.50! The trick is to hold on to your coupons and stack them with store coupons when the item goes bogo (buy one get one free)!
- Publix has a Yellow Buyer Flyer and a Green Buyer Flyer (in-store coupon booklets you can pick up on the turn-about at the entrance of the store where the weekly ad usually is, or you can find them at the Service Desk.) These are released twice a month. There are also other coupon booklets that come out periodically. They all have store coupons and sometimes manufacturer's coupons.
- They will also accept grocery store competitor's $5/$25! When you spend at least $25 before coupons, you can use these coupons to take an extra $5 off and if there is a Publix $5 off purchase coupon available, you can stack one of each per transaction!!
- There is a Penny item that can be purchased on Wednesday (or the first day of the new sale ad) with a $10 (before coupons) purchase. You must have the coupon out of the Tuscaloosa News, or possibly The Birmingham News, to get the mystery item for $.01!
