I got this recipe from A Few Short Cuts.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef or chuck ($4.48 [$2.99/lb. @ Publix]) See post HERE.
- 1 packet mushroom gravy mix (GV brand @ WM $.82)
- 1 can beef broth (GV brand @ WM $.75...I think)
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 tbsp. water
Directions:
- Heat skillet to medium and make patties out of the ground chuck. Brown on both sides and place in casserole dish or crockpot.
- Add beef broth to pan. Heat to boiling.
- Mix cornstarch and water. Add to boiling broth. Wisk until gravy begins to thicken.
- Add the packet of mushroom gravy and the water that it calls for.
- Pour over meat patties (whether you are cooking in casserole dish or crockpot).
- If cooking in casserole dish, Heat oven to 350 and cook 30 min.
- If cooking in crockpot, cook on low for 3 hrs.
Total=$7.65 (OR $8.34 w/ tax!)
