What's For Dinner Tonight? Salisbury Steaks with scalloped potatoes and broccoli and cheese!

Salisbury Steaks

I got this recipe from A Few Short Cuts.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lb. beef chuck ($4.74 [$3.16/lb. @ Food Outlet])
  • 1 packet mushroom gravy mix (GV brand @ WM $.82, The hubby picked it up at DG for me and they didn't have any store brand so paid $1 for McCormick.)
  • 1 can beef broth--I'm out! So, I will be using 2 tbsp. soy sauce and 1 cup water. Also, you could use Dale's steak seasoning instead of soy sauce for a little more flavor!)
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp. water
Directions:
  • Heat skillet to medium and make patties out of the ground chuck. Brown on both sides and place in casserole dish or crockpot.
  • Add beef broth to pan. Heat to boiling.
  • Mix cornstarch and water. Add to boiling broth. Wisk until gravy begins to thicken.
  • Add the packet of mushroom gravy and the water that it calls for.
  • Pour over meat patties (whether you are cooking in casserole dish or crockpot).
  • If cooking in casserole dish, Heat oven to 350 and cook 30 min.
  • If cooking in crockpot, cook on low for 3 hrs.
