    CVS Trip 12/17 Spent $22.24 Saved $69.93 ~ 76% Savings!!!

So, I went to CVS today to use my raincheck from the other week. It was for the Spend $30, get a $10 gift card deal. I also scanned my Extra Care Card at the Coupon scanner and it shot out a ton of coupons! My favorite was the $.99 Zhu zhu pet. I picked up a bag of combos, which were $2, get $2 ECB's, and I got some candy I needed for the kiddos to make Graham Cracker Gingerbread houses.

    Here is the pic:

    I did 3 transactions.

    1st transaction:
My Raincheck (Spend $30, get $10 gift card) from last week:
    (4) Tide 50 oz. $5.94
    (2) Kraft Easy Mac

    Coupons Used:
     (4) -$2/1 MQ
    (2) $1/1 MQ

-Used $10 Giftcard I received from Olay/Covergirl Rebate

Paid $11.33, received $10 ECB's (They substituted $10 Extra Care bucks in place of the gift card!)

    2nd Transaction:

    Paid $2.18, received $2 ECB's

    3rd transaction:

    (1) Cracker tub $1
    (1) Dippers Snack $1
    (1) Peppermint Patties $1 (my indulgence!)

    Coupons Used:
    (1) -$8.89 ($.99 Zhu Zhu pet CVS coupon!)
    -$2 ECB's
    -$10 ECB's

    Paid $8.73

And to top all this off, When I got home our sweet neighbor GAVE us a T.V.! It's an old t.v., but such a blessing for our girls! Their t.v. had gone out and we haven't been able to replace it, yet. How awesome is that?!?! God is awesome and I am so thankful that there are people that still CARE about others. I am going to repay her by doing the same thing with my kids' used (in good condition) toys! Instead of yard selling them, I'm going to just give them away to a stranger in need. I am not tooting my own horn, just keeping the good deed going! See what good you can do for someone else this week, and then the next, and then the next! Let's start a Good Deed Revolution. And don't just do it to be recognized, in fact, do it in the most discreet way.

    Mat. 6:4
"...so that your giving may be in secret..."

We shouldn't do things for others expecting anything in return, we should do it with a pure and sincere heart!

    2 Cor. 9:7
"So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver."

May God bless you all and may you have a glorious Holiday with your families!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

    from my family to yours!

My not so perfect Publix Trip 12/5 - Spent $67.11, Saved $95.87 - 59% Savings!

Wondering how I get my Percentage Saved? I use the following equation:

Total Savings / (Total Spent + Total Savings) = % Saved

The reason I titled this post as my "not so perfect" Publix trip is because it didn't go quite like I had planned it. I made a purchase of (4) Maragret Holmes veggies (reg. price: $1.19) and had planned on using (2) $.75/2 MQ and (2) $1/2 STORE Q on  4 products. I hadn't been completely thorough in looking over my coupons for the Margaret Holmes canned veggies. I assumed The Q in the "All the Trimmings"  booklet was a PUBLIX store coupon, but it was indeed a MQ. So, needless to say, the cashier kindly pointed out to me that I had only purchased 4 of the cans. I apologized and was reminded that when I am preparing my list, I need to be more thorough in looking over the wording on my coupons to make sure that I AM using them correctly. The reason I am sharing this is because I have been doing this couponing thing at Publix for over 2 yrs. now, and I still mess up every now and again. No body is perfect. If you are just starting out and think that it is going to go easy peasy every time, I hate to inform you that you are setting yourself up for a big let down. Don't expect everything to be perfect, especially in the beginning when you are still learning. Take it one day at a time. If you stress yourself out about it, it's likely you won't stick to it.

Another thing that didn't go as planned is that I bought 2 eat smart bagged veggies that were priced at 3/$5 making them $1.67 ea. Well, I grabbed a salad kit bag, which i thought was included in the sale. Come to find out, it's on sale, but for 2/$5 making them $2.50 ea. I didn't retract the item though, because it still wasn't a BAD deal to me. Have to keep those veggies in the fridge! ;-) The last thing that I flubbed up on was the nestle morsels. I grabbed one of the 12 oz. bogo ($1.50 ea.) bags and one of the 6 oz. (reg. price: $1.92) bags. I should not have been in such a hurry! Once again, I did not retract the purchase, but I may return the item and swap it out for the other one, only because I was only purchasing the item because it was a great deal with my coupons. if it had been an item that I was in dire need of, I would probably just keep it and take the small loss.

I also grabbed a few things that were not on my list. I grabbed Mayfield ice cream ($3) for the hubs, and Luigi's frozen ice, no sugar added, for me. I am on a journey to lose 15 lbs. by Christmas and I felt this would help me when I have a sweet tooth!

If you don't have a home church, get your family up and choose to visit one in your community this Sunday. I know what it's like not have a church family, I have been there, and we visited several churches for a whole year until we found our home church! Through prayer and patience, the Lord led us to the perfect place for us to Worship HIM!

May you all have a blessed week and a joyful Christmas Season with your families! Happy Shopping! =)
